Well, well, well. It’s kinda funny that its week 3 of the NFL, and teams are already making moves to save to potentially save their seasons.
As I mentioned yesterday, there were some rumors that former Jags QB Byron Leftwich could be moving to Atlanta. Today, the rumors were proven true, as the Falcons signed the QB to a 2-year $7 million dollar deal. Apparently, Leftwich will come in as the 3rd string QB, but could compete with Joey Harrington for the starting job, if the offense continues to struggle. The most interesting part about this deal is that the Falcons signed Leftwich to a 2 year deal…maybe they’re thinking he may be more than a short term fix?

In other NFL signing news, the Cowboys agreed to terms with former Bears defensive lineman Tank Johnson (details of the deal were not disclosed). Johnson, who is currently under suspension until week 8, looks to be the starting nose tackle for the Cowboys once he is reinstated, as the Cowboys lost their starting nose tackle, Jason Ferguson, to injury in week 1.
Johnson is represented by Jerrold Colton of CS Sports Management.
