This is definitely not a blog for breaking news, but I happened to be up watching Sports Center, and I figured I’d pass it along.

Peter Abraham of the Journal News is reporting Joe Torre will be named as the Dodgers new manager within the next 36 to 48 hours.  Don Mattingly, Torre’s bench coach with the Yankees, will apparently be going with Torre to Los Angeles after he declined to stay with the Yankees organization after the Yankees offered the head coaching job to Joe Girardi.

Pretty crazy.  Just a couple of days ago, everyone was hinting that Mattingly would be the new Yankees coach, and Girardi would be headed to Los Angeles.  Then, today when Girardi was offered the head coaching job, Mattingly was effectively put into limbo.  Now though, it looks like he’ll have a new home out west.  Where does Grady Little, the previous Dodgers coach, go now? Don’t really know.  Baseball’s off-season has been pretty interesting…and the world series only ended yesterday.
