Alex Rodriguez has decided to beef up team A-Rod.

Is he looking at Scott Boras?

Only a few weeks after distancing himself from his agent, Scott Boras, and negotiating his own deal with the New York Yankees, A-Rod has gone out hired Guy Oseary as his manager.  From ESPN,

Alex Rodriguez hired Guy Oseary, who has worked with Madonna and Lenny Kravitz, to be his manager. Oseary is not a registered baseball agent, and Scott Boras remains A-Rod’s representative on baseball matters.

So, I ask the question again…is Scott Boras losing his touch?  Even though Boras still remainsA-Rod and Scott Boras -- Barton Silverman/New York Times A-Rod’s baseball agent, it seems like he’ll be collecting significantly less “Alex Rodriguez money” since he won’t be collecting money on any future A-Rod endorsement deals (since he won’t be negotiating them).  Boras has known A-Rod for the last 16 years…but A-Rod’s opting out with the Yankees has created a large rift between the two.  How big a rift? well, A-Rod called his opting out with the Yankees “a huge debacle” and that he and Boras’ goals “were not aligned”.  That, and the obvious fact that A-Rod has chosen a new manager to help run his career.

Although A-Rod said he plans on keeping Boras as his baseball agent, you have to wonder how long it will take before they can mend their fences.
