“Giving Them The Business” is the “sort of” daily link dump for Sports Business Digest. Read and Enjoy.
- Say it ain’t so Lima…Say it ain’t so. “Lima Time” is officially over.
- Looks like that whole Jason Kidd trade wasn’t the best idea.
- Looks like the brakes might be put on that whole “Sonics to Oklahoma” deal.
- Its official. Pending his reinstatement and some other things, Pacman Jones will be playing in Dallas; a city with a whole lot more strip clubs than Tennessee (why go to Vegas when you can walk down the street?)

The Sonics situation is fascinating indeed in that Howard Schultz, the Starbucks guru who feels he was defrauded by the new ownership’s flat-out lie about trying to keep the team in Seattle first and foremost, is already in a “flagrant foul” mood to begin with since his java biz is “grinding” to a halt. He’s been busy trying to reshape Starbucks’ value and restore its worth in our shrinking economy, and now he looks like a complete idiot for “releasing” the team thinking for one second new ownership – and David Stern for that matter – had any intention of doing anything other than pulling up the U-Hauls and taking the Sonics to Oklahoma City. This is gonna be fun watching the NBA squirm its way out of its blatant co-conspiracy to move the team without even trying to keep it in Seattle.
