Emili Vidal, the Catalan architect, has published plans for 150,000-seater football stadium just off the coast of Barcelona on an artificial island linked to the city by a bridge running from the Forum at the Diagonal Mar.

The European champions commissioned Norman Foster, designer of the new Wembley stadium, in 2007 re-structure the existing Nou Camp stadium but plans to expand capacity by 10,000 did not solve capacity issues.
