Let’s play two…even if the sports are different.
The Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals are teaming up for an interesting double-header promotion. For four different dates, August 2, 4, 5 and 19, Bengals and Reds fans will have the opportunity to pair a Bengals practice with a Reds baseball game.
It’s Cincinnati Sports. All Day.
“There is nothing better than seeing your favorite sports teams live and in person, and for the first time ever you can watch Bengals training camp in Cincinnati and take in a Reds game on the same day,” Reds Chief Operating Officer Phil Castellini said in a news release.
To market the promotion, new marketing initiatives featuring both Reds and Bengals players have been released. A.J. Green and Brandon Phillips are featured in a “Cincinnati’s Best Hands” poster, while Andy Dalton and Aroldis Chapman are “Cincinnati’s Top Guns” and Rey Maualuga and Jay Bruce are “Cincinnati’s Hardest Hitters”. For fans worried about potential scheduling conflicts — which would certainly put a damper on a dream sports day — you need not worry,
“The practices on these promotional days will be in the stadium to accommodate large crowds and have been scheduled to avoid any conflicts with the Reds games,” said Jeff Berding, Bengals director of sales and public affairs, said in a news release. “We are Reds fans and are excited to work together with this very cool promotion.” (via CincyBiz Blog)
To help activate the partnership, Bengals players took place in last night’s pre-game ceremonies, with Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga throwing out the first pitch of the game to the Reds’ Jay Bruce.
