It’s the ultimate experience for a Dodgers fan, and serves a great cause…all at the same time.
Omaze — a company that specializes in ordinary people being a part of transformative experiences — is currently running a Los Angeles Dodgers ‘Dream Day’ promotion. Under the promotion, one lucky fan will get to meet the players on the field during batting practice, shadow Dodgers CEO Stan Kasten, sit in the press box and of course get to watch the September 28th Dodgers game, against the Rockies.
While the ‘Dream Day’ type promotions aren’t out of the ordinary, Omaze has added a new wrinkle: Fans buy tickets (ala a raffle) with the donated money going to a specific charitable organization tied to the event.
In the case of the Dodgers event, a contribution will be made to InsideOUT Writers,
InsideOUT writer’s goal is to reduce recidivism among juvenile offenders by providing youth and young adults with tools for pro-social means of self-expression. IOW offers two innovative programs: The Writing Program offers writing classes for youth incarcerated at four Los Angeles juvenile detention facilities. The Alumni Program provides a continuum of care for former Writing Program participants (Alumni) who have been released from detention.
