A-Rod hits Scott Boras where it hurts…the pockets
Alex Rodriguez has decided to beef up team A-Rod.

Only a few weeks after distancing himself from his agent, Scott Boras, and negotiating his own deal with the New York Yankees, A-Rod has gone out hired Guy Oseary as his manager. From ESPN,
Alex Rodriguez hired Guy Oseary, who has worked with Madonna and Lenny Kravitz, to be his manager. Oseary is not a registered baseball agent, and Scott Boras remains A-Rod’s representative on baseball matters.
So, I ask the question again…is Scott Boras losing his touch? Even though Boras still remains
A-Rod’s baseball agent, it seems like he’ll be collecting significantly less “Alex Rodriguez money” since he won’t be collecting money on any future A-Rod endorsement deals (since he won’t be negotiating them). Boras has known A-Rod for the last 16 years…but A-Rod’s opting out with the Yankees has created a large rift between the two. How big a rift? well, A-Rod called his opting out with the Yankees “a huge debacle” and that he and Boras’ goals “were not aligned”. That, and the obvious fact that A-Rod has chosen a new manager to help run his career.
Although A-Rod said he plans on keeping Boras as his baseball agent, you have to wonder how long it will take before they can mend their fences.

I think A-Rod’s comments on the 60 Minutes interview pretty much sealed the deal Scott Boras’ services are no longer needed, thank you very much. Seems to me Boras has been pretty quiet during all this, waiting for things to die down…but it doesn’t seem like Alex is going to let that happen any time soon. Unless…there was a conspiracy theory between the two of them the best thing for Alex’s future marketing potential would be to play out a scenario where Boras said he was opting out of NYC only to have Alex “return” and paint himself as a misunderstood, true-blooded, 100% Yankee? Nah, that would be to hard to pull off…or are we all fools for not even remotely considering this wasn’t actually constructed to go down this way?
