49ers fans looking for season tickets…this is your time.

The team announced at the beginning of this week that seat licenses for the team’s new 68,500 seat stadium are now available for sale to the general public. A general reminder: a seat license does not grant its holder season tickets, it gives the holder the right to buy season tickets. Seat licenses are generally transferrable, and can be lost if the holder does not renew the season tickets that accompany the license.

Yes, the demand for sports, and in particular football, is high enough that fans are still willing to pay for the right to purchase tickets at a later date.

According to the New Santa Clara Stadium website, reserved seats — or non club-level — seat licenses are selling between $2K and $12K a piece, with the stadium’s 9,000 club-level seat licenses selling in between $20K and $30K, with a few select licenses selling for $80K.

Financing options, are available, of course.

The team is also scheduling times to visit its Preview Center — an interactive outdoor sports and entertainment venue. The 3,500 square foot Center features a nine-foot touchwall, a mock suite, and an interactive stadium model. At least you’ll be able to get an idea of what the seats will look like from your $20,000 investment, ahead of time. And apparently, that is the way to go, according to Al Guido, VP of Sales and Service for Legends Sales & Marketing (the company chosen by the Stadium Authority to market the seating),

“The only way to really feel how different this stadium is going to be is to come down and take a look at the Preview Center,” said Guido, “This experience gives fans a taste of what a world-class outdoor venue can offer. It really is your chance to get in on the ground floor, see the construction up close and book your seats before the stadium opens.”

The $1.2 billion dollar project, which is being built by Turner/Devcon, is expected to open in 2014.
