For a few lucky go-kart drivers, it was the opportunity of a life time.
NASCAR drivers Tony Stewart and Stewart-Haas Racing teammate Ryan Newman showed up NASCAR Speed Park at the Concord Mills shopping center and raced the patrons in attendance. The entire event was created by Quicken Loans — one of the sponsors of Newman’s #39 Quicken Loans – Chevrolet car. Stewart and Newman appeared in Concord just ahead of this Saturday’s Bank of America 500 which will be broadcast at 7 pm on ABC.
“At Quicken Loans, we pride ourselves on delivering amazing service to our clients and fans – whether through the mortgage process, our sponsorship of NASCAR or putting together a free event like this one to thank fans for their support,” said Jay Farner, president and chief marketing officer at Quicken Loans. “Like all NASCAR fans, we like speed and take pride in getting clients to the finish line of their home loan faster than anyone else. We were thrilled to create a memorable night for fans at NASCAR Speed Park and show them what our company and racing program are all about.”
As an additional bonus for fans at the go-kart track, Newman’s #39 Quicken Loans – Chevrolet was on display at the event, and fans were also able to have their picture taken in a mock-up of the car and be entered for a chance to win a Sprint Cup race prize pack, given away this Saturday.
Heading into the Charlotte race, Tony Stewart currently sits in 7th place in The Chase standings. Ryan Newman finished just outside of the top 12 drivers, failing to qualify for NASCAR’s playoff event.
