Penske Racing officially has a new primary sponsor. The racing team has signed a multi-year agreement with a car company of another kind…Hertz. Under the agreement, Hertz will serve as a primary sponsor for Penske cars competing in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series.

“Hertz has established a great relationship with Penske through our car rental operations in Tennessee. Extending this partnership to the championship-winning Penske Racing organization enables Hertz to enter the sport of NASCAR, tapping into its diverse and devout fan base,” said Mark P. Frissora , Hertz Chairman and CEO. “By sponsoring Penske Racing, Hertz is able to tap into the loyal NASCAR fan base; race enthusiasts who will love the diverse selection of cars, including cars in Hertz’s Adrenaline and Prestige Collections, in our rental fleet.”

Specifically, under the agreement, Hertz will serve as co-primary sponsor of the No. 22 Ford Mustang for seven different Sprint Cup races, andwill also sponsor Penske vehicles in two Nationwide Series races at Dover International Speedway, and races at Chicagoland, Richmond, Watkins Glen, New Hampshire, and Homestead-Miami throughout the upcoming racing season.
