The Big Aristotle is expanding his portfolio.
Former NBA Superstar Shaquille O’Neal has involved himself in yet another business venture. Shaq is now the part owner of BLUEO4, an oxygenated enhanced water beverage. The enhanced water brand touts a zero calorie, electrolyte and mineral blend which is designed to reduce recover time needed from exertion and increase overall health and wellness. By bringing Shaq into the ownership fold BLUEO4 is hoping to expose the brand to a larger consumer base, thereby locking in more distribution deals (the company recently signed distribution agreements in California and Florida),
“Everyone knows Shaquille’s abilities, records and stats as one of the NBA’s all time greats,” said BLUEO4 founder and CEO, Dr. Dave. “However, Shaquille’s brand influence, business acumen, knowledge and sheer competitive nature has propelled his business career after the NBA to a level achieved by few. Shaquille is very hands-on, and involved in the day-to-day operations of the company. We are thrilled to have him not only as a brand endorser, but also a partner and co-owner.”
As mentioned, Shaq will server as both a brand endorser and a co-owner of the enhanced water brand.
With more than 6.5 million Twitter followers and various social networking profiles, it will be intriguing to see the effect that Shaq, the brand, has on BLUE04. Interestingly enough, as of this writing, Shaq has yet to tweet about the oxygenated water beverage, but one can assume such tweets will be coming in the near future.
Shaq becomes the third athlete to become an owner of BLUEO4, joining former NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady and WWE wrestler David Otunga.
