The 49ers are moving to Santa Clara. Tight End Vernon Davis is making sure that Jamba Juice will be making the move right along with the rest of the team.
Davis has signed a store development agreement with the Jamba Juice Company that looks to enhance the brand’s presence in the Santa Clara marketplace. The multi-year deal will see Davis opening two new Jamba Juice stores in Santa Clara in the next two years, with an option to open additional locations in the subsequent two years. Under the deal, Davis has also purchased one of the existing Jamba Juice stores in the Santa Clara area.
Both parties are looking to provide Jamba’s food and beverage products — including fruit smoothies, juices and salads — to the Santa Clara area, to promote wellness and healthy living.
“Playing football in California, I have become a huge fan of Jamba Juice products and the Company’s mission to help inspire and simplify healthy living,” said Vernon Davis, athlete and entrepreneur. “I am very proud to be associated with a brand that is so committed to helping consumers keep fit and eat healthy. Jamba offers a great line-up of good-tasting, better-for-you products and they have a long history of supporting the community, and especially in addressing the health and wellness needs of children, which is very important to me.”
“Vernon is an outstanding athlete and role model, one who serves as an inspiration for those seeking to achieve high levels of success in their personal or professional lives. He is committed to enabling people to lead healthier, more active lifestyles and to supporting the community,” stated James D. White, chairman, president and CEO, Jamba Juice. “Vernon has brought the same level of commitment to this business partnership that he brings to his game, and we are excited to have him join Jamba in making healthier, better-for-you products available to everyone.”
The health and well-being angle promoted by Jamba Juice seems to make them a popular franchise purchase among athletes, as it provides an additional revenue stream, and seemingly does nothing more but strengthen the brand of the active, natural lifestyle, of the healthy athlete. We recently saw Venus Williams sign a similar multi-year partnership with Jamba last July.

This is a great partnership opportunity for Vernon Davis, the 49ers and Jamba Juice alike. Jamba Juice is a healthy and delicious option for athletes as well as fans on their way to/from a game.
Very similar to what Peyton Manning did when he became a Denver Bronco, and that certainly seemed to work out well for all parties involved. http://www.sportsnetworker.com/2012/10/30/peyton-manning-enters-sports-business-arena-owns-21-papa-johns-in-denver/

Any time that a growing business can team up with a well-known and well-respected athlete only a positive outcome can happen. That is just the case with the partnership between Jamba Juice and 49ers Vernon Davis being formed. This type of partnership yield a benefit for both sides – Jamba Juice gets endorsed by a big name athlete that will increase revenue and Davis gets to invest his money in something that is sure to grow. The importance of brand association is critical for the growth of a small company. Though it is already known for its healthy food and drink choices, Jamba juice is sure to become even more popular among athletes (which in turn means fans) with the addition of this high profile endorsement, similar to the increase in sales and marketing when Venus Williams signed a deal with them. Even though there is risk involved with partnerships like this, take Tiger Woods and Nike for example, the benefits can certainly outweigh the downfalls. With Jamba Juice having quality products and endorsing healthy living and Davis being a hard working committed role model these two seem to be a good match for one another. This team seems to be on the track for success for both parties involved.
