The world’s largest ticket marketplace has now made its second inroads to Major League Soccer. The MLS’ Portland Timbers have inked a deal with StubHub, with the company being named the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace of the MLS team.
StubHub will once again team with Paciolan, a provider of ticketing and marketing solutions for live entertainment organizations, to allow a secure secondary marketplace for Timbers fans looking to purchase and sell tickets.
“This partnership will facilitate a brand new ticketing experience for Timbers fans,“ said Greg Ivry, StubHub Business Development Director. “We are thrilled to bring the StubHub service to fans in Portland.”
Under the partnership, StubHub will receive a marketing presence at Timbers’ home games including in-game promotions, LED displays and on Timbers’ social media outlets.
“We are pleased to be able to offer our fans a certified, secure way to buy and sell their tickets, and to provide another great benefit to season ticket holders,” said Joe Cote, Vice President of Ticket Sales for the Timbers.
As mentioned previously, StubHub’s deal with the Timbers is its second agreement within the MLS, having previously inked a deal with the LA Galaxy. The company also has similar deals with soccer clubs abroad, including the EPL’s Everton, Sunderland and Tottenam teams.
