Sponsorship synergy such as this is probably not achieved very often.
Ndamukong Suh is now the official spokesperson of tailgating. That title was bestowed upon him by the company that currently holds the title of the official sponsor of tailgating, Omaha Steaks. As the official spokesperson of tailgating, the Detroit Lions rookie defensive tackle will offer tips and advice on how to perfect the delicate, little-known art of tailgating.
“As the official sponsor of tailgating, we felt Ndamukong Suh was the perfect addition to our team,” said Senior Vice President and family owner Todd Simon. “While Suh is recognized as a powerhouse on the football field, Omaha Steaks rules the tailgate turf and we both share an unparalleled commitment to excellence, making our partnership the perfect pairing.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Suh is having a pretty good year, no? He signed an endorsement deal with Nike back in February, you may have seen him in commercials for Dicks sporting goods all summer, and now he’s helping sell steaks; a food which he has undoubtedly enjoyed once or twice in his life prior to this endorsement deal.
Oh, did I forget to mention that he signed a five year, $68 million dollar contract ($40 million guaranteed) with the Lions in August?
That could certainly buy Suh a lot of Omaha Steaks.
…if he wasn’t already receiving them for free as the official spokesperson of tailgating.
